Reverend Rickey Armstrong has served as Pastor of the Glendale Baptist Church since
November of 1998. Reverend Armstrong served as Associate Pastor of Glendale from July 1996 to
November 1998. He pastored the Central Baptist Church in Syracuse, New York for almost eight year
before coming to Miami. He has preached the gospel throughout the United States, the Virgin Islands , South Africa and Brazil. Pastor Armstrong graduated from the Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1979. He received his Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1982. Pastor Armstrong is presently a Doctor of Ministry candidate at the Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, Florida. In May of 2002, Reverend Armstrong was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from the Miami International Theological Seminary. Pastor Armstrong has served the Southern Baptist Convention as a Home Missionary in Birmingham, Alabama. In 1994, he served on the SBC Committee on Committees. In 1992-1993, Pastor Armstrong was Vice-chairman of the Executive Committee of the Baptist Convention in New York. He also served as Moderator of the Greater Syracuse Baptist Association in 1990 and 1993. Prior to leaving Syracuse in 1996, Pastor Armstrong led a weekly Bible study for The Honorable Mayor Roy Bernardi and Family. A native of Altheimer Arkansas, in 1981, he married the former Tobiper Arnez Moore. They are the parents of six children, Aharon, Ryan, Amaryah, Alexandria, Jordan and Naithan. |
